NEW ASSOCIATE PASTOR
Pastor Mike Tarr recently moved with his family from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Roanoke, Indiana, to become the new Associate Pastor of Roanoke Baptist Church. He and his wife Julie finished their education at Hyles-Anderson College and accepted the call to Belle Vista Baptist Church in Albequerque, where Pastor Tarr had many pastoral responsibilities such as working with teens, working in the Christian school, counseling, music, coaching, etc.
In the Roanoke Baptist Church Pastor Tarr will be primarily responsible for about 50 teenagers, and will also assist Pastor James Bachman in several areas. The opening at Roanoke Baptist Church came last November when Pastor Bachman’s son Jack, the Associate Pastor at that time, accepted a call to become the senior pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee.
Pastor James Bachman stated, “The eleven-month wait was worth it to get a highly qualified man like Pastor Tarr. I believe he is one of the best men in the country and we are very grateful to have him on staff.”
Mike Tarr was a graduate of Roanoke Baptist School in 1986.
