DANIEL J. HIPSKIND, 77
DANIEL J. HIPSKIND, 77, died Monday, October 20, 2008, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the owner of Hipskind Asphalt Company for 36 years, retiring in 1986. He was a St. Sgt in the U.S. Air Force and attended the University of Notre Dame. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and V.F.W. Post, Monroeville.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon M. Hipskind of Fort Wayne; sons, Michael of Forest, Miss., Joseph (Michelle) of Fort Wayne, John of Durham, N.C., and Thomas (Amy) of Fort Wayne; daughters, Marie (Matt) LeClerc of Brownsburg, Indiana and Theresa (Todd) Alderson of Camden, S.C.; brother, Jerry Hipskind; sister, Lois Federspiel of Atlanta, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by brother, David Hipskind; and sister, Norma Hipskind.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Road. Msg. John Suelzer officiating. Calling was Thursday, October 23 at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, with Military Honors by the U.S. Air Force.
