ROBERT ALFRED BROWN, 96
ROBERT ALFRED BROWN, 96, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 at home. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 26, 1917 to the late Alfred “A.C.” and Minnie W. (Rippe) Brown. Mr. Brown served from 1942 to 1945 in the Army during WWII. He started his career in car sales with Nash Ramblers and went on to work for DeHaven Chevrolet for 12 years. Mr. Brown was an avid golfer until the age of 92. He truly enjoyed watching and was a diehard fan of both the Cubs and Phillies.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan M. (Dennis) McClure of Fort Wayne, and Kay (Kevin) Scanlan of Orland Park, Illinois; his grandchildren, Meagan McClure of Fort Wayne and Joel Schiffli of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; his step grandchildren, Jessica, Shauna and Kevin Scanlan, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Lutheran Park, Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne with a luncheon to follow.
