AMY SILVA NAMED EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF LRWP
Little River Wetlands Project announced the appointment of Amy Silva as its new executive director. Silva will oversee LRWP’s wetlands restoration and protection work, as well as its environmental education programs.
Silva brings a strong background in land management, development of new programs and projects, securing funding sources and financial management. She previously served as superintendent of Allen County Parks from 1985-98, growing the department significantly during her tenure, and was one of the founding board members of the NIPSCO Environmental Challenge Fund.
A nonprofit land trust, LRWP restores and protects wetlands in the watershed of the Little River, a tributary of the Wabash River. LRWP’s project area encompasses more than 140,000 acres in Allen and Huntington Counties, Indiana. The organization owns and manages several preserves: Eagle Marsh, Arrowhead Prairie, Arrowhead Marsh, and Little River Landing (co-owned with ACRES Land Trust).
