DAISY PEARL LONG, 84, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Ossian Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 2, 1929 in Mayfield, Kentucky, daughter of the late Thomas and Irene (Underwood) Jackson. She was a homemaker and loved singing country music. She also enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. She loved spending time with her family and she will be missed by them all.
Surviving are her children, Joe Dale (Janet) Long of Yoder, Billy Gene (Sharon) Long of Fort Wayne, and Marjorie Lee (Gary) Grant of Huntington; sister, Jessie Westbrook of Midland, Michigan; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jody Richmond Long in 1994; brother, Coley Jackson; and sisters, Mary Murphy and Margaret Paulen.
Funeral service was on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809 with visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation was also on Friday, August 16, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or Ossian Health & Rehabilitation Center’s activities and entertainment fund.
