FRANK CARMEN MANGONA, 88
FRANK CARMEN MANGONA, 88, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2010, at Hospice Home. Born March 1, 1921, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Santa (Puglia) Mangona. He worked for American Hoist, retiring as an Inspector after 43 and a half years. He was a member of the Holy Name Society; a committee member for the Boy Scouts Troop 21; and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking and toy making. He was an accomplished gardener and loved to fish.
Surviving are his wife, Lois B. Mangona of Fort Wayne; children, Carol Ann Spears of Angola, Steven Anthony Mangona of Kendallville, Mary (Robert) Mangona Stark and Patricia (Patrick) Ann Kiel, both of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, John and Tony Mangona; and sister, Mary Colelli.
Mass of Christian Burial was 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2213 Brooklyn Ave., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with Rosary service at 3:45 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church or for Masses. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
