VIOLET A. SCHAEFER, 79

VIOLET A. SCHAEFER, 79, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, November 13, 2009, at Parkview Hospital. Born March 2, 1930, in Knoxville, Tennessee, she was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church and she was a member of the Altar Guild at church along with doing many other jobs at church.

Surviving are her daughter, Pam (Todd) Welsh of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Becky Schaefer of Fort Wayne, Jennifer Gates of Indianapolis, Tracy Schaefer of Fort Wayne, Andrew Schaefer of Indianapolis, and Nicole Welsh of Fort Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Schaefer, in 2001; son, Ricky Wayne Schaefer, in 2006.

Service was 3 p.m. Monday at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1819 Reservation Drive (Fort Wayne, IN 46819), with calling two hours prior to service. The Rev. Paul J. Spira officiating.

Burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery.
