ST. THERESE FALL FESTIVAL FUN

As the fall season began, the annual Waynedale tradition that provides food, fun and entertainment for the whole family has ended.

The 62nd Annual Fall Festival at St. Therese Church was held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 on the grounds of the church and school located at 2304 Lower Huntington Road.

The community was invited to take part in the day’s festivities beginning at 9:45 am with the flag raising and prayer led by Father Dave Ruppert.

The day was filled with numerous children’s games including a duck pond, basketball toss, dunk tank, inflatable moonwalk, obstacle course and maze. Children had their faces painted or a temporary tattoo for the day. The fall event began with a 5K run/walk at 9:30am and a Cornhole tournament to end the day. There was something for everyone at the silent and live auctions. There were baskets, certificates, items and even some autographed memorabilia.

Young and old enjoyed chicken, corn on the cob, taco salads, pizza, brats, hot dogs, ice cream, just to name a few delicious treats served all day.

Also, new for this year, was “Mass in the Grass” at 5pm.

The evening “Over 21 Party” included a beer tent with live entertainment from the Pop N’ Fresh band. To add to the excitement of this adult evening was a Texas Hold ‘em tournament, Blackjack, and a Roulette wheel.

Thank you Waynedale for a day full of fun and fellowship here at St. Therese!
