JACK TANCIL, JR., 86
JACK TANCIL, JR., 86, of Fort Wayne, died on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Hospice Home. Born August 12, 1922, in Micola, Missouri, he was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He retired from CW Transport as a semi-driver in 1984. He was a member of Teamster’s Retiree Club 414 and Trinity Lutheran Church. Jack was also an avid golfer and loved playing Euchre.
He is survived by his wife, Doris (Summers) Tancil of Fort Wayne; daughters, Patricia Camille (Ray Gene) Strater of Fort Wayne, Kathy Brunson of Noblesville and Kimberly Tancil of Fort Wayne; stepson, Roger Summers of Huntertown; stepdaughters, Carol Ort and Susan Peterson, both of Fort Wayne, Marjie (David) Rudny of Hoagland and Robin (Jeff) Vincelett of San Diego, California; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Tancil, in 2003.
Service was Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 7819 Decatur Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior to service at the church. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road.
