EVELYN MARY KOENIG, 90

EVELYN MARY KOENIG, 90, of Fort Wayne, died on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Lutheran Hospital. Born on April 13, 1919, in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Clara (Cayot) Girardot. She worked at the Allen County Public Library in the Genealogy Department for 18 years. She was also a member of American Legion Post 241 Auxiliary and Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.

Surviving are children, Clara (William) Swygart of Fort Wayne, Robert Heminger of Beaumont, Texas, Jack Wies of Louisville, Kentucky, Herbert H. (Janet) Koenig and Sandra K. Koenig, both of Fort Wayne, and Thomas L. (Wanda) Koenig of Missouri City, Texas; stepson, Loren Koenig of Huntington; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert C. Koenig, in 1983; stepchildren, Robert Koenig and Gloria Snell; and one grandchild.

Service was 10 a.m. Monday at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1819 Reservation Drive, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Visitation also from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, Fort Wayne.
