OPEN TRYOUTS SCHEDULED
PROFESSIONAL INDOOR FOOTBALL RETURNS TO FORT WAYNE
The Fort Wayne Freedom announces open tryouts to be held January 3rd at the ASH Centre in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The tryouts are an opportunity for athletes who may have been overlooked by other professional indoor football teams to showcase their skills to the Freedom coaching staff.
“As an organization, we have signed players from our open tryouts, most notably Alf Fertil and Scott Heighland,” Coach Matt Land said.
Open tryouts will be held at the ASH Centre, located at 1701 Freeman Street in Fort Wayne, from 10:00am to 12:00pm, January 3, 2009. Athletes in attendance will be tested in a variety of football related drills, including the 40-yard dash and vertical leap. Players registering in advance will need to fill out the required form on the Freedom website, www.fwfreedom.com, and send a check or money order to the Fort Wayne Freedom. There will also be an opportunity to sign up at the tryout.
The Fort Wayne Freedom Fan club would like to extend an invitation to all fans at a breakfast meeting before open tryouts to be held Saturday, January 3, 2009. Breakfast will be at IHOP on Jefferson Blvd. at 8:30am.
Afterward, we will go to the Ash Center for open tryouts. Please feel free to join us for either or both events.
