THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL WAYNEDALE PICNIC
It was our 5th year and a real success. This unique old fashioned picnic in the park was supported by our community and totally free to everyone. The goal was to bring everyone out to the park and enjoy the fun-filled day.
More than 400 children (0-13 years) attended and participated in the free games to win a variety of prizes. Others played on the moonwalk, rock wall, playland, and obstacle courses. Some of the children enjoyed craft activities by making paper flowers and some even had their faces painted. Other children received tattoos on their arms, ankles or faces. Adults played bingo to win prizes while they listened to great upbeat music. There was also entertainment like clowns, cheerleaders and Dance Ltd.’s dancers for the crowd to enjoy.
Many door prizes were handed out all afternoon thanks to those sponsors that donated them.
Thanks to the F.O.P. for handing out over 250 bicycle helmets to our children to keep them safe.
A big extra thanks this year to the Army National Guard for their added support.
However we especially want to thank all those volunteers and supporters that came out to help, many of the same ones every year.
This is when we would like to remind everyone to help next year, by themselves or with friends, if only donating an hour or two. This year we needed even a few more volunteers than we had. If you can call and give us your names or even an origination now while your still thinking of how great this year’s picnic was that would be great.
So call Buelah Stoker: 747-6305 or Cheryl Connett: 747-5272 and we can put your name on the list for next year!
Thanks again to all that supported us.
