LOCAL DENTIST HELPS THOSE IN NEED
Waynedale’s beloved dentist, Dr. Blake, is a faithful volunteer at Fort Wayne’s Matthew 25. He started his volunteer efforts two decades ago as a student and decided to return to the volunteer position when his own children became college students.
As a volunteer, Dr. Blake is currently serving on the Dental Board at the facility. His most recent venture was obtaining new software to improve customer service. The software debut began June 1st and converts all records from paper filing systems to computer filing.
Dr. Blake volunteers once, sometimes twice a month on average and enjoys meeting the people who come in for dental work. He says, “The customers are so appreciative and so nice. They’re just wonderful. You really feel like you’re helping people.”
Dr. Blake also enjoys the new facilities and says that, “it rivals almost any general dental office in town. It’s just great. It’s cheery and bright. There is really a spirit of cooperation (among volunteers).”
To those who might benefit from the services, Dr. Blake offers these tips, “Come in for a walk-through and check out the new facility and staff.
Everybody is treated equally here and with the utmost respect. We’re all people on God’s earth.”
