SMOKE ON THE WIND
GROWING UP
When my brother James and I were growing up, our father taught us to always remove our hat or cap when in the presence of a lady. And I can tell you this: you would never sit at the dinner table with your cap on. Yes, I mean NEVER.
I still consider this a good and wonderful teaching from our father, Leonard the Peace Keeper. Dad has journeyed on, and where he went there was a gate and a man standing there.
Our father removed his hat to show this man respect, and the man told Dad, “Welcome to the Kingdom of Heaven. Our hats are off to you, Leonard.”
Bless us Lord, God, and the gifts we receive from you, and instill in all men the knowledge that You will love them even if they are bald. So, gentlemen, it is just fine to remove your caps.
Besides, you look stupid sitting at the dinner table with them on.
