JOHN E. STIER, (THAT OTHER SINGER) 69
JOHN E. STIER, (That other singer) 69, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday, July 21, 2005, at his residence. Born November 3, 1935, in Fort Wayne, he retired in 2000, as Human Resource Manager from Lincoln Food Service Products, after 35 years. He also performed for several decades in the music profession, first as an entertainer with the Jimmy Stier Orchestra and later his own band, John Stier & Company. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
Survived by wife, Pamela S. Stier of Fort Wayne; sons, Chris (Pam) Stier of Springboro, Ohio and Cary (Sheila) Stier of Chicago, Illinois; daughters, Angie (Rich) Penrose and Sommer (Ted) Butz, both of Fort Wayne; sisters, Patricia Hire and Karen Magdich, both of Fort Wayne; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, James and Robert Stier.
Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, July 25, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 518 East Dewald St., Fort Wayne. Calling was Sunday, July 24, at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with Rosary. Burial at Catholic Cemetery.
