The Joint Forces Headquarters received confirmation that the fifth, sixth, and seventh wave of 150 – 200 soldiers from each 76th Infantry Brigade (Separate), headquartered in Indianapolis, arrived at Indianapolis International Airport on July 24, 27, and 28.

The guardsmen, who hail from Indianapolis, Columbus, Evansville, New Albany, North Vernon, Madison, Washington, Bedford, Scottsburg, Muncie and Fort Wayne, Indiana, said goodbye to their family and friends in July 2004.‑ They were assigned to the Coalition Task Force Phoenix and their primary mission was to train the Afghanistan National Army.

This is the fifth, sixth, and seventh of the several scheduled returns, which began in June and will continue through the beginning of August 2005 for the brigade units.‑
As the soldiers arrived in Indianapolis, family, friends and National Guard soldiers greeted them at the 38th Infantry Division Armory, 3912 West Minnesota Street, Indianapolis, IN.

We are grateful for the sacrifices of the families of these Citizen Soldiers and are pleased to say that they are home!
