GEORGE J. McINTOSH, 70, died Tuesday, October 19, 2004. He was born November 30, 1933, and grew up near Ossian. He worked at International Harvester and Manco Products. He was an Elder of St. Michael Lutheran Church and a former member of Zion Lutheran Church. As a life member of the National Rifle Association, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and shooting sports. His hobbies included oil painting, horticulture and wood working/carving in his personal shop and as a member of the Chislers and Turners of Northeast Indiana. “His passion was making people laugh and he was famous for one-liners. He was a devoted husband, father and grandpa.”
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Frances; daughter, Lesli McIntosh of Fort Wayne; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Jared Sparks of Roanoke. He had two wonderful grandkids, Avery and Conner Sparks, and is also survived by sister, Carmen Joyce (Milford) Lock; numerous nieces and nephews; and brothers and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his father, George D. McIntosh, and mother, Mary Hazel (Ryal) McIntosh.
Funeral service was Saturday, October 23, at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 2131 Getz Road. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Warren.
The preferred memorials are St. Michael Lutheran Church or Allen County 4-H Clubs Inc.
