BRONZE STAR MEDAL FOR WWII VETERANS WHO RECEIVED THE COMBAT INFANTRY BADGE OR THE COMBAT MEDICAL BADGE

The Allen County Veterans’ Service Officer is looking for World War II Army veterans who earned the Army’s Combat Infantry Badge or the Combat Medical Badge. Veterans who have earned either badge and did not receive the Bronze Star Medal are authorized to receive this award. Orders for this award are being placed through Senator Lugar’s office to expedite delivery to the Allen County Veterans Service Officer. A ceremony is being planned for presentation of this medal to either the veteran or the survivor of the veteran. Any WWII Army veteran or survivor of a veteran who has earned either badge is encouraged to contact the Veteran’s Service Officer, George Jarboe at (260) 449-7861 so he can request your award. Ending date for submission to Senator Lugar’s office is September 30th, 2003. This is to enable time for the medals to be requested and sent to Allen County for presentation.

Being a‑member of the committee that picked colors for paint, tile and carpet, I can assure you that our Post is going to be a bright, exciting place to be, when we reopen.
If you haven’t sent in your dues, be sure to do so. With everything our Legion Post has experienced, let’s make this a l00% membership year.
