WAYNEDALE STUDENT DISTINGUISHES HIMSELF AT LINCOLN TECHNICAL INSTITUTE

Ryan Shaffer of Koester Drive, a student scheduled for summer graduation from Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis, has distinguished himself by passing two of the automobile professional competency examinations administered by the prestigious National Institute for Automotive Excellence (ACE). Mr. Shaffer passed the examinations for suspension and steering and for brakes. A graduate of Elmhurst High School in Waynedale, he has been studying in LTI’s automotive technology program. There are eight examinations offered in the ASE automobile series. Passage of the examinations lays the groundwork for ASE certification, which requires two years of hands-on experience in the field for which the examination is given. Because of the depth of their studies, LTI Students receive one year of credit toward the two-year work requirement. Passage of the examination while still in school enhances a student’s future employability and salary potential, reports Allen R. Sort, executive director of LTI’s Indianapolis campus.
