LES R. MAXWELL, 74

Les R. Maxwell, 74, died Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at Renaissance Village. A native of New York, he was founder and president of Maxwell Tree Expert Co. since 1957. He retired in 1988. He was a Korean War Army veteran and past president of Indiana Arborist Association, a member of National Arborist Association, and the SPCA. He was also a member of First Missionary Church, Gideons International, and the Lions Club. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and was a recipient of the Silver Beaver Medal for service. He was preceded in death by daughter, Dawn Marie Maxwell, who passed away in 1989.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Joan; son, Gregory Scott of Fort Wayne; brother, Alfred S., North Fort Myers, Fla.; and a grandson Christian R.

Services were held Saturday, January 25, 2003 at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home with burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Memorials to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Boy Scouts of America, or First Missionary Church.
