LOCAL WRESTLER EARNS TWO MEDALS IN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

Our son, Josh Lovejoy was mentioned in THE WAYNEDALE NEWS for his honors at Boot Camp graduation in June of 2001. He has since gone to Germany where he is currently stationed. December 7 and 8, 2002 was the weekend of the 2002 US Armed Forces European Wrestling Championships. Josh participated and received a Bronze Medal in Freestyle Wrestling and a Silver in Greco-Roman Wrestling.
This was particularly impressive since it was only his third meet ever wrestling Greco-Roman. He was also 12 pounds under weight. The Gold Medal winner for both Freestyle and Greco-Roman will be transferring to Colorado Springs to be part of the US All-Army Wrestling team and a shot at participating on the 2004 Olympic team.
