TAYLOR UNIVERSITY FORT WAYNE CAMPUS

TUFWC PROVIDES ONLINE SKILLS TRAINING

TUFWC announces the availability of 800 courses for high quality, self-paced interactive Internet training. The online skills-based courses are grouped into seven libraries of related topics. Each library is priced at $199 per year per person for unlimited access, and contains as many as 200 courses covering topics such as: desktop computing skills, small business management skills, web development, technical Microsoft certifications training, home office skills, and many other topics. All are self-paced and offer increased knowledge and proficiency for professional advancement and personal enrichment. OPEN HOUSE AT BLHS

Open house is just around the corner. Plan to attend on Sunday, January 19, 2003 (No football game that day). Times are 2pm to 4pm. You will enjoy the afternoon and learn more about Bishop Luers from our dedicated faculty and staff. You will also meet our students, who will be helping out in many different capacities. This is a perfect time for you, and your family, to tour the school, ask questions, and enjoy refreshments. Also, our newly renovated locker rooms will be open to tour. Come on down and see the results of our many generous Bishop Luers supporters.

FRESHMAN REGISTRATION AT BLHS

Tuesday, January 28th and Wednesday, January 29th, all eighth grade students; (class of 2007) and their parents are asked to register for the upcoming school year. Faculty and staff will be available to help with decisionmaking. Also, representatives from our business office will be on hand to discuss tuition and tuition forms will be given out. Registration will take place in the cafeteria. A registration fee will be required at the time of registration. That amount is determined in January and we will notify our feeder schools. Call the Development Office, with any questions or concerns.

BLHS PRAYER BREAKFAST

BLHS will host their second annual Prayer Breakfast on Friday, January 31, 2003. The Prayer Breakfast will be at Lester’s Banquet Hall, 1502 Bluffton Road, from 7am to 8:30am. The guest speaker will be Ann Helmke, Executive Director of Vincent House, Inc. Vincent House is a shelter program for homeless families. Tickets are $10 per person and sold in advance. UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS

The University of Saint Francis’ Oaks and Willows Center is offering an academic support program for children on Saturdays from January 18 through April 26, 2003. This program is open to all students in the community who need individualized help in reading, math, and written expression for remediation or enrichment. Students work in a small group of their peers with one tutor to enhance their skills. Work within the group is prescriptive. The program provides computer-assisted instruction along with a variety of hands-on materials under the direction of experienced teachers from the community.

Classes meet on Saturday mornings in Bonaventure Hall. Children in grades 1-3 attend class from 8:30am to 10am. Children in grades 4 and up attend class from 10:15am to 11:45am. The cost is $250 per student, $200 for other children in the same family. The fee includes all materials.
