USF ART AND VISUAL COMMUNICATION DEPT. PRESENTS WATERCOLOR EXHIBITION
Rick Cartwright, Chair of the USF Art & Visual Communication Department has announced that a Watercolor Exhibition will be held through Saturday, December 1, 2002. The exhibit is in the Weatherhead Gallery in the Mimi and Ian Rolland Center off Leesburg Road on the east side of campus. The show features works by Joe Anderson, Louise Cartwright, Jacqueline Gnott, Scott Kilmer, Lori Langenhop, and Maurice Papier. The exhibit opening was Saturday, November 9, 2002 in the Weatherhead Gallery. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturday from 9am to 3pm. The public is welcome. There is no admission charge.

CAMPUS VISITATION DAY AT TUFWC
TUFWC will conduct its third autumn Campus Visitation Day on Friday, December 6, 2002. Each semester three Campus Visitation Days, hosted by the TUFWC admissions staff are offered for prospective students and their parents to experience the Taylor Tradition first-hand. DR. WISE ACCEPTS NEW POSITION IN SOUTH CAROLINA
Dr. Terry Wise, Vice President for the College of Lifelong Learning, Taylor University, has announced his decision to accept new employment responsibilities as Vice President for Adult and Graduate Studies at Southern Wesleyan University in Central, South Carolina, effective January 1, 2003. This opportunity will allow him to more fully explore his personal vision for Christ-centered distributed learning. During his service at Taylor, Dr. Wise helped the University understand the nature and the requirements for a comprehensive, distributed learning delivery system. “We wish Terry and his family God’s blessing as he begins his new responsibilities at a sister institution of the Council of Christian Colleges and University,” Dr. David J. Gyertson, Taylor University president.
In order to better support the mission of the Fort Wayne campus of Taylor University, The College of Lifelong Learning has become The Center of Lifelong Learning. Under the supervision of Dr. Ron Sloan, academic dean of the Fort Wayne campus, and the day-to-day leadership of Mr. Kevin Mahaffy, CLL will develop ways to complement that entity’s core programs while continuing to extend the educational mission of Taylor University through distributed learning courses and the on-line Associate of Arts degrees. Taylor University is a Christian liberal arts institution with campuses located in Fort Wayne and Upland, Indiana.
TRI-STATE UNIVERSITY
SHEARER RECEIVED DEGREE FROM TSU
James Shearer from Roanoke, Indiana recently completed the requirements for a bachelor of applied management degree from Tri-State University at Fort Wayne during the summer 2002 term. Shearer was among seven seniors who completed their degree requirements this past summer.
TSU is a career-oriented, comprehensive institution, granting over 40 associate and baccalaureate degrees in programs in the Allen School of Engineering and Technology, the Ketner School of Business, the School of Education, and the School of Arts and Sciences. The University, located in Angola, Indiana has off-campus sites in Fort Wayne, South Bend and Merrillville, Indiana.
VALPARAISO UNIVERSITY
Nathan Ruhter of Fort Wayne is studying abroad in Hagzhou, China for the Fall of 2002 semester through VU. An attractive city, Hagzhou is a center of industry and agriculture, as well as tourism, particularly famous for its silk and tea products. Students participating in the program live in dormitories on and attend classes at Zhejiang University. Nathan, a senior at VU, is majoring in Chinese and Japanese studies in the College of Arts and Sciences. He is a 1999 graduate of Hong Kong International School. VU offers 14 Study programs in 11 countries. Approximately 100 VU students study abroad annually, and VU receives 130 international students from more than 40 countries annually.
