Leona Werling, 88, died Thursday, October 17, 2002 at Ossian Health & Rehabilitation Center. A naïve of Wells County, she was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting. She was a member of Bethlehem Ladies Aid. She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away April 26, 2001, a sister Helen Adams, and brothers Melvin Scheuman, Rudolph Scheuman, and Albert Scheuman. She was the daughter of Conrad Scheuman and Hannah Hockemeyer.

She is survived by sons Eugene Werling, Bluffton; Kenneth Werling, Uniondale; Bruce Werling, Ossian; daughters Judith Lockwood, Ossian; Mary Gallmeyer, Ossian; sister Eldora Weldon, Graham, Missouri; 9 Grandchildren, and 8 Great Grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday, October 20, 2002 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ossian, Indiana with burial in Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials to Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Alzheimer’s Foundation. Information furnished by Elzey Patterson Rodak Funeral Homes, Ossian, Indiana.
