SUSANNE MAURINE TARR, 78
Susanne Maurine Tarr, 78, (a residence of Albion, Indiana – formerly of Fort Wayne) died Sunday, August 18, 2002. A native of Redford Twp., Michigan, she was an instructor at Parkview School of Nursing and a registered Nurse for 16 years. She retired in 1991 from Adams County Memorial Hospital as director of nursing from 1975 to 1991. She received the 1994 Older Woman of the year award, was active with Visiting Nurses and Hospice Program, and the United Methodist Women’s Program. She was a volunteer for AARP Seniors Insurance Program and Secretary of Albion AARP. She was an Alumni of University of Detroit Mercy and Purdue. She was a member of Women’s Business Association of Decatur, Indiana. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother; she will be missed by all. She is preceded in death by husband Roger Eugene Tarr who passed away in 1969 and by a brother Don Scarlett.
She is survived by sons David R. Tarr, Roanoke, Indiana; Ronald Tarr, Cabet, Arkansas; Bruce E. Tarr, Yoder, Indiana; daughters Nila Dafforn, Ossian, Indiana; Anita Chenoweth, Albion, Indiana; brother Harold Scarlet; 14 Grandchildren; and 18 Great Grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday, August 22, 2002 at Monson Chapel with burial in Hoverstock Cemetery. Memorials to Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice, Fort Wayne.
