COREY TROSPER GRADUATES BASIC TRAINING; FAMILY ATTENDED CEREMONY

Pfc. Corey B. Trosper, grandson of Howard and Imagene Trosper of Waynedale, recently graduated from the U.S. Marine Corps’ basic training facilities in San Diego, California. Trosper’s Grandmother, Mother Regina, Uncle Deno, Sister Tasheena, and Sister Hannah flew to California to attend the graduation.

Corey, a graduate of Wayne High School, also attended Kekionga Middle School, and Waynedale Elementary School here in Waynedale. He was very active in sports. Upon graduation, Corey received the Marine Expert Rifleman Pin. He flew back with his family members for a ten-day leave. His leave was extended to an extra 15 days to work as a recruiter’s assistant with Sgt. Bestman at the local office of the Marine Corps in Southtown Mall. Roberta Stewart, Wayne High School principal asked Corey to speak at an orientation for eight graders on February 6, 2002.

Since arriving in Waynedale, Corey has been kept busy visiting and going out a lot to eat with teachers, friends, and relatives. A dinner was given for him prior to leaving for more intense Marine Corp training. From there he plans to attend a Tech School to further his service career.

Grandmother Imagene said, “While attending the graduation and listening to speeches given by the military personnel, I was very impressed by their acknowledgement of prayers and asking God’s blessings on the recruits and families. As a believer in Christ, Corey was allowed to attend worship services with others and I am asking those who know Corey to please pray for him and all the men in our Armed Forces.”
