BLACKSNAKES WELCOME FAMILY SUPPORT

The Fort Wayne unit of the Indiana Air National Guard, the 122nd Fighter Wing “Blacksnakes,” is pleased to announce Mrs. Pamela Hestermann as the new Family Readiness and Support Manager.

“Mrs. Hestermann will be a strong asset to the Wing in matters regarding family communications and events,” said Colonel Perry Collins, the Blacksnakes’ Vice Commander.

Pamela Hestermann comes highly qualified for the position, especially considering her professional experience; she retired as a Master Sergeant, and First Sergeant, from the 122nd Fighter Wings’ Medical Squadron in 1999 after more than twenty-six years of military service, including six years active duty at Travis AFB, California.

“Because I lived the role for so long, I understand the needs of military families,” Hestermann said. “Especially ‘Guard families’ because the pressures they face are very unique.”

Hestermann earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from Goshen College in Goshen, IN. She is a member of the Air Force Association, American Legion Post #143, the Goldwing Riders Association of America, and a charter member for Women in the Military Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Hestermann said she plans to build up the Blacksnakes’ Family Support Group through increased communication and awareness of family needs. She can be reached by email at Pamela.Hestermann@inftwa.ang.af.mil, or by phone during regular business hours at 260-478-3409.
