WAYNEDALE ELEMENTARY STUDENTS RESPOND TO PRESIDENT BUSH
On October 11, 2001 President Bush asked students across the United States to help the children in Afganistan. When the students from the Waynedale Elementary heard the President say, “One in three children in Afghan are orphans and suffering from malnutrition,” they responded.
Their goal is to raise $1 for each student in school and send it to the Afghan students in December by raking leaves in the neighborhood, selling craft items at the PTA Craft Bazaar – December 8th and some students even gave up their allowances.
The teachers responsible for this project are Jennifer Sprague, 2nd grade class and Lynne Rutherford, 5th grade class.
