TRUCK FEST 2002

TRUCKFEST RETURNS TO AUBURN, INDIANA

After an unbelievably successful inaugural year, the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival TruckFest is back. The second annual TruckFest is expected to be even bigger and better than last year. “The Festival was thrilled with the outcome of the first annual event and anticipates the number of trucks to at least double this year,” said TruckFest 2002 Chairman Todd Esterline.

Head for Auburn on Saturday, July 13, 2002 to enjoy a day filled with a truck show, truck contests, field contests for adults and children, vendors, music, food and fun. Registration begins at 8:00 am, and judging ends at 1:00 PM. Awards will be presented at 2:00 PM.

Contests will be held throughout the day. Contests include: Crank It Up, Burn Out, Best Paint, Best Engine, Best Interior, Loudest Exhaust, Highest Lift, Lowest Truck, and Longest Distance Traveled. All winners will be selected by the businesses sponsoring each contest.

Crowd response will definitely have an impact on the judges’ decisions. New to TruckFest this year is the children’s events. Kids will be able to participate in contests such as the Tire Change Race and Tire Roll. Kids’ Art Tent will provide children with an opportunity to create automotive-related artwork. “The committee is really excited to be able to offer events this year for all age groups. It will truly be a family event,” said Esterline.

Papa John’s Pizza is sponsoring a pizza-eating contest to be held during the show. This contest was introduced last year and was MC’d by B93 DJ’s.
