LAMAR E. MCCRORY, 87
LaMAR E. McCRORY, 87, of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Coventry Meadows, Fort Wayne. Born May 19, 1921, in Elkhart, he was the son of the late Clarence E. McCrory and Eva L. (Copenhaver).
He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 37 years of service in 1977. He served in the Army and was a recipient of the Bronze Star and eight Battle Ribbons for his service during World War II. He enjoyed woodcarving and golf.
Surviving are his wife, Doris E. (Hardy); children, Kenric (Betty) McCrory and Kevin (Annie) McCrory, both of Fort Wayne, Gordon (Leslee) McCrory and Bruce (Jane) McCrory, both of Elkhart; the mother of his children, Betty Hickman of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
