RUTH H. ALT, 78

RUTH H. ALT, 78, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday, April 24, 2005, at Lutheran Hospital. Born in Fort Wayne, she was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and volunteered for many years at the St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen.

Surviving are her husband, Richard P.; daughters, Christine (Don) Mahoney of Columbia, S.C. and Carol (Kenneth) Bruick of Fort Wayne; sons, Daniel (Mary) Alt of Mission Viejo, California and Phillip (Teresa) Alt of Fort Wayne; brother, Ralph Nichter of Bluffton; sisters, Marianne Nichter and Joanne Nichter, both of Sarasota, Florida; 11 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon (Robert) Piepenbrink.

Mass of Christian Burial was Thursday April 28, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road. Visitation was Wednesday, April 27 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, with an evening Vigil service. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
