JOEY SARLE “BOSSMAN” SANDERS, 95

JOEY SARLE “BOSSMAN” SANDERS, 95, of Fort Wayne, went to be with his Lord, Thursday, April 14, 2005, at his residence. Born May 1, 1909, in Tracy City, Tennessee, he was a Coal Miner Foreman.

“Nothing was more important to him than his family. He was blessed with many wonderful friends and family. He will always be remembered and will forever be in our hearts. He was the greatest father in the world to his 11 children.”

Survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Edith E. (Bennett) Sanders of Fort Wayne; daughters, Betty (Howard) Baker of Barboursville, Kentucky, Wanda Delores Smith of Fort Wayne, Mary Nelson of Corbin, Kentucky, Dollie (Harold) Onkst of Pineville, Kentucky; sons, Joey (Barbara) Sanders III, Marion Sanders, Roger (Charmain) Sanders and Jerry Sanders, all of Fort Wayne, and Donald (Phyllis) Sanders of Pineville, Kentucky; daughters-in-law, Marlene Sanders of Arjay, Kentucky and Evelyn Sanders of Pineville, Kentucky. He was a wonderful grandfather to 35 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchilden; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sons, Bruce E. Sanders and Rev. H. David Sanders; sons-in-law, Terry Nelson Sr. and Richard L. Smith; and daughter-in-law Karen Bates Sanders.

Service was Monday, April 18, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Burial at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
