SMOKE ON THE WIND

August 22, 2007 Rev. Thomas Dancing Feather Ebbing

Black Pine Animal Park isn’t far from our home. Recently, I had a request to talk to and pray for Scarlet, a cougar who is about to make her journey to the spirit world.

Jane, my wife drove me to the park and Karen, our friend who raised Scarlet, picked us up in a golf cart. I was taken to Scarlett, and then Jane and Karen left me alone with her to talk, sing, and pray with her and for her.

I must tell you that there are no words to describe my feelings. Wow! What a blessing! I knelt and petted Scarlet, and she started to purr. I called to Jane and Karen and thanked them for allowing me this alone time with Scarlet. We then all spent some time together.

It was wonderful. Thank You, God, for this blessing of Your love. Thank you for Jane, for Karen, for Scarlet and for the love and joy she has brought to us humans.
