VIOLA W. SCHWARZ, 84
VIOLA W. SCHWARZ, 84, of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Lutheran Hospital. Born April 5, 1924, in Ossian, she worked in clerical and bookkeeping for numerous companies and individuals for many years.
She was a member of National Association of Parliamentarians, American Institute of Parliamentarians, and Marine Corps League Auxiliary; past Indiana Department President of American Legion Auxiliary; member of American Legion Auxiliary 296, Lutheran Women’s Missionary league; and received the Sagamore of the Wabash award. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her sons, Stephen W. (Karen) Schwarz of Fort Wayne, Thomas V. (Kathy) Schwarz of Clifton Park, N.Y., Richard A. (Sue) Schwarz, Robert M. (Lisa) Schwarz and Daniel J. (Lori) Schwarz, all of Fort Wayne; daughter, Barbara L. Schwarz of Laurel, Maryland and Marilyn J. Schwarz of Fort Wayne; brother, Norman V. (Nancy) Werling of Atlanta, Georgia; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Schwarz on November 6, 1993; sisters, Juanita W. Springer and Bernadine Scherer; and parents, Victor Werling and Alvina (Roembke) Werling.
Funeral service was Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Peace Lutheran Church, 4900 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation was Friday, May 2, 2008 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Entombment in Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
