RUTH MARIE HISNER, 84
RUTH MARIE HISNER, 84, of rural Ossian, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at her residence. Born May 8, 1923, in Allen County, she was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm. She was a lifetime member of Nine Mile United Methodist Church, where she was past president of Ladies Aid and a longtime Bible School teacher.
Surviving are her daughter, Marsha Hisner of Fort Wayne; son, Rick Hisner of Ossian; brothers, Donald Durnell of Fort Wayne and Glen Durnell of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister, Norma Jean Burley of Alto, Michigan; grandchildren, Rachel R. (Derek) Mellen of Fort Wayne, Rebekah N. Hisner and Jessica C. Hisner, both of Ossian; and great-grandchildren, Madison L. Hisner of Ossian and Tanner Mellen of Fort Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Rowland N. Hisner; and son, Steven M. Hisner.
Funeral service was Monday, May 5, 2008 at Nine Mile United Methodist Church, 6303 Winters Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation was Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Burial in Maple Lawn Nine Mile Cemetery.
