“FLAGS-IN” AT PRAIRIE GROVE CEMETERY
For more than half a century, we have honored America’s fallen heroes by placing American flags before the gravestones and niches of service members just prior to Memorial Day weekend.
This tradition, known as “flags in,” has been conducted annually at both Arlington National Cemetery and the U. S. Soldier’s and Airmen’s Home National Cemetery since 1948.
As part of Waynedale’s Memorial Day weekend, many veterans, families of veterans and children from American Legion Post #241 will participate. Each grave with a military notation, will receive a small American flag on Saturday, May 28th at 9am at Prairie Grove Cemetery, Old Trail Road in Waynedale. All flags will be removed after Memorial Day.
