HAPPY BIRTHDAY MRS. ROBINETTE!
This month, Mable (Kohr) Robinette celebrates her 98th birthday!
Mrs. Robinette was born on February 5, 1918. She was a first grade teacher at Waynedale Elementary for over 30 years. She taught in both the former brick Waynedale Elementary School building and the building used today.
Mrs. Robinette retired in 1980 from Fort Wayne Community Schools the same year her husband, Robert Robinette, retired from Southwest Allen County Schools where he served as a teacher and principal.
During her 30-plus years in retirement, it was rare for Mable to go somewhere without being recognized by one of her former students or their parents, especially in the Waynedale area. Until the last few years, it was amazing when she would see a former student she could call them by name before they even reintroduced themselves.
