MITCHELL, CLYDE L., 91, was entered into Eternal Life July 5th, 2014, in Lake Placid, Florida in the loving care of his family and home hospice.
Loving father of Gary (Elvera) Mitchell, Gayle Caswick, Deborah Stein, Tammy (Jerry) Lemke , further survived by 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Margaret (Peg, nee Brones) in 2007.
Clyde was a WW II Veteran serving in Griesbach, Germany and Steyr, Austria. In 2008 Clyde was able to take a trip of a lifetime and travel back to visit the cities he served in the U.S. Army.
Clyde enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing bridge at the Tomoka Heights Clubhouse, golfing, fishing, camping, writing, and working on various handy-man projects; including his Clyde-mobile. He enjoyed membership as Master Mason Placid Lodge 282, Mizpah Shriners, Faith Baptist and Memorial Baptist Churches.
Memorial Service to celebrate Clyde’s life will be held 10:30 AM, Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Memorial Baptist Church, 2900 N. Anthony Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN with Rev. David Mitchell officiating.
