STUDENTS RAISE $2950 FOR CANCER PATIENTS
On October 24, 2013, St. Therese students participated in a mile long cancer walk.
The students raised pledges before the walk. The original goal was $2680.00. If that goal was reached they had three volunteers who said they would cut 10 inches from their hair and donate it to Locks of Love.
The students not only reached, but exceeded it and raised $2,950!
Nicole Smith from Hair Affair volunteered her services and cut their hair while the rest of the student body watched.
Mrs. Jauregui, Mrs. Biesiada and Heather Potchka (4th Grade student) got hair cuts.
Those students who did not participate in the walk spent some time making “Joy Jars” to donate to hospitals where patients receive chemo therapy.
