VAN K. STIFFLER, 84
VAN K. STIFFLER, 84, of Fort Wayne, died Monday, August 11, 2008, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born November 26, 1923, in Muncie, he served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was owner/operator of Fort Wayne Ground School; Director of Operations of Fort Wayne Air Service; owner of Stiffler Aeronautical Institute; and also drove school bus for Fort Wayne Community Schools. He was a former member of Aircraft Pilots Association.
Surviving are his wife, Muriel Stiffler of Fort Wayne; daughters, Patricia (Larry) Holderbaum and Peggy A. (John) Linnemeier, both of Fort Wayne; son, Keith M. Stiffler of Raleigh, N.C.; son-in-law, Rick Twitchell of Cape Coral, Florida; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela A. Twitchell.
Funeral service was Friday, August 22, 2008 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Visitation was Thursday, August 21, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
