105 YEAR OLD KICKS UP HER HEELS
Edna Braun truly enjoyed an exciting evening of an activity she has always loved; dancing to the music of the good old days. She turned 105 years old on July 12th.
A resident of Kingston Care Center, 1010 W. Washington Center Road, Edna attended the annual Kingston Dinner Dance held on Monday, July 19, 2010 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 1819 Reservation Drive. The doors opened at 4:30 p.m. when approximately 350 seniors enjoyed a delicious meal followed by three hours of dancing to Music Express, a popular local band that plays favorites of yesteryear.
Many guests commented that the evening went like “clockwork,” everything running very smoothly. Executive Director Erin Floyd stated that this event has been going on for 18 years, beginning first at the Community Center, moving to Wayne High School and to our current venue at Mt. Calvary.
Kingston Healthcare sponsors the annual event. Kingston has three communities in Fort Wayne; Kingston Residence, an Assisted Living facility at 7515 Winchester Road; Kingston Care Center, 1010 West Washington Center Road specializing in Short Term Rehabilitation and Continuing Care services; and Kingston at Dupont, an Assisted Living Memory Care.
