VIETNAM VETERAN’S DAY

On this day in 1973, the last combat troops were withdrawn from Vietnam and the last prisoners of war held in North Vietnam arrived on American soil. EVERYBODY NEEDS A ROCK

Where: Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center
Add’l: Though we might not realize it, we all use rocks every day! We will explore why there are so many rocks (and sand and gravel) in northern Indiana, use models to find out how they got here, and discover some ways people use them. We’ll also walk to an old gravel pit to explore what kinds of rocks are there and use a number of senses to learn about them. Cost: $5 adult, $3.50 child.
