CHRISTMAS CHEER AND CHARITY IN WAYNEDALE

On December 4th, a festive event took place at the Masonic Lodge in Waynedale. Members of HIKE, a philanthropic organization supported by Job’s Daughters, hosted Cocoa and Cookies With Santa in order to raise money for their mission to provide financial assistance to children needing hearing devices. If that doesn’t warm your heart enough, perhaps the knowledge that Job’s Daughters is comprised of young ladies aged 10 through 20 might stir some emotions for you.

The walls and tables of the lodge were adorned with Christmas decorations, and Santa occupied a seat in the center of the room. The event included pictures with Santa and the option to decorate cookies to take home with you. Several other homemade treats as well as bracelets were being sold to help raise funds for the cause.

Jesse Randolph, 11, is the youth coordinator responsible for creating the event. Jesse has been in Job’s Daughters for 2 years, and says she quite enjoys her time with the group. She has several other activities planned for the future including a tea party, Easter egg hunt, and a Dimes for HIKE walk.

Job’s Daughters was created in the 1920s and they have grown into an international organization with members in Canada and Brazil. Members gain useful organization and communication skills that help them become successful as they grow up. Members like Jesse Randolph gain an opportunity to help their community and have fun doing it.
