STAYING CONNECTED DURING THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION – Straight From The Senate

The Indiana General Assembly will convene for the 2015 legislative session on Jan. 6. The input and ideas of those living in Senate District 16 are very important to me as I shape my approach to the issues discussed in the Senate.

There are many ways to voice your opinions and stay connected with what’s going on in the legislature during the upcoming session.

In early January, you will receive a survey newsletter from me, sent to your home address.

You will have the opportunity to answer seven questions based on various proposals expected to come before the General Assembly. Your responses to this survey will help inform my decisions if these bills are put to a vote.

The survey includes questions related to state spending, education and other important issues affecting our state.

Up to two people from each household can answer the survey, which can then be mailed back to me at the Statehouse. You can also access the survey online at www.IndianaSenate Republicans.com/Long starting in early January. The legislative session moves quickly, so I hope to have your responses no later than Jan. 31.

There are a number of other internet resources that are great for staying informed during session. By visiting www.IndianaSenate Republicans.com you can access information on legislative proposals, watch committee hearings and Senate sessions live and track legislation as it moves through the legislative process.
