SUMMER DAY CAMPS AT ALLEN COUNTY PARKS
The public is invited to register their kids, ages 6-12, for Summer Day Camps at Fox Island Park
All camps are 9:30-4:30pm daily
Jr. IMN Camp at Fox Island County Park
Become a Jr. Indiana Master Naturalist by attending eight of the nine scheduled nature classes (plants, canoeing 101, water quality by ponding, frogs, geology & soils, trees, beginning birding, frog dissection, and astronomy) and by volunteering six hours during camp. We will have a swim party graduation ceremony down at Bowman Lake on the last day (Friday) from 2:30-4:30pm. Only nine spots left in this camp!
Fish and Survival Camp at Fox Island County Park
Campers learn how to fish, canoe, create fire (safely), build a debris shelter, gather wild edibles and water. We swim daily (no-lightning permitting). All fish caught are donated to Soarin’ Hawk Raptor Rehab to feed Jefferson, the eagle. We are hoping to get a visit from Jefferson on Friday when the parents pick the kids up for the last time – otherwise a fish fry.
Cost is $100 per camper per week. Bottled water and snacks are included (campers bring a sack lunch).
Financial assistance is available.
