JOHN “JAY” F. PELKINGTON III, 74
JOHN “JAY” F. PELKINGTON III, 74, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014. Born in New York, NY, Jay attended St. Jude’s Catholic School and was a ’58 graduate from CC. A past President of the Homebuilder’s Association he also belonged to the Coldwater Lake Sailing Club, Pine Valley Country Club and was the honorary president of the GOOFS.
Jay enjoyed sailing, golfing, sports, playing with his dogs, and spending time at the lake.
Surviving are his wife, Penny Pelkington of Coldwater, Michigan; daughter, Lisa (Herb) Maier of Grabill; son, Brian (Diane) Pelkington of Huntertown; daughter, Mandi (Bryon) Bomia of Monroe, Michigan; grandchildren: Megan and Jason Maier, Paige Pelkington, and Jaye and Brodie Bomia; brother, Bob (Camilla) Pelkington of Huntertown; and four-legged children, Rosie and Annie.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents John F. Jr. and Elsie Pelkington; and brother, Patrick Pelkington.
Celebration of Life Visitation is Saturday, March 29, 2014 at – D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
Memorials may be made to the First Annual Jay Pelkington Christmas in July Party c/o Penny Pelkington, Humane Society, or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
