JOIN TINCAPS FOR BARK IN THE PARK

The Fort Wayne TinCaps are hosting their first-ever Bark in the Park in partnership with the Allen County SPCA and the PETCO Foundation. Fans holding a special Pooch Pass may bring their dogs to Parkview Field to watch the baseball game from a designated lawn area behind left center field. The event is scheduled for Sunday, August 4th at 2:05 p.m. A $12 Pooch Pass admits one dog and one human to the game. Additional lawn seats are available for $5. Fans with canines are asked to enter Parkview Field from either of the two north gates off Jefferson Boulevard.

“We’re very proud to be partnering with the TinCaps for Bark in the Park. Any opportunity for folks to enjoy an outing with their pets is wonderful,” said shelter director, Jessica Henry. The Allen County SPCA will be the game day sponsor through a grant from the PETCO Foundation. Several adoptable dogs from the nonprofit animal shelter will be on hand at the game.

“This is a fun way for us to spread awareness and showcase some of our fabulous, adoptable dogs,” Henry said.

Bark in the Park events occur all over the United States, but this is the first time the TinCaps have hosted such an event.

Fans with dogs can obtain a Pooch Pass by calling (260) 407-2806. Only socialized, spayed/neutered, vaccinated and licensed dogs are permitted. Dogs must be at least six months of age and on 6′ maximum non-retractable leashes. Watering and cooling stations for the dogs will be available. The first 1,000 fans through the gate will receive a free PETCO tote bag with valuable information inside. The last day to purchase a Pooch Pass is Friday, August 2, 2013.
