SPCA LAUNCHES VETERINARIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD

The Allen County SPCA is launching a campaign for its inaugural Veterinarian of the Year award. The public is invited to vote for their favorite veterinary practice by making donations to the Allen County SPCA in their preferred veterinarian’s honor. Each vote costs $1, and all proceeds benefit the nonprofit shelter. Donations are tax deductible.

“We thought this friendly competition would yield great recognition for local veterinarians who always go the extra mile for their patients, and it helps support the efforts of the Allen County SPCA at the same time,” said shelter director, Jessica Henry. “The larger the donation, the more votes that veterinary practice receives.”

Donations – or votes – can be made:
·In person at any Allen County, Indiana veterinarian’s office between now and October 20th.

·By mailing a check with the vet practice name in the memo line to the Allen County SPCA at 4914 S. Hanna Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46806.

·By calling the shelter at (260)744.0454 ext. 203 to make a credit card donation over the phone.

·By visiting the website at www.acspca.org/vote_vet.html and selecting the vet’s practice from the drop-down box to make a secure online PayPal donation.

Votes will be tallied daily, and the results will be updated on the website.

The campaign runs from July 8 through October 20, 2013. Winners will receive a plaque to display in their office as well as a complimentary table at the Allen County SPCA’s signature fundraiser Catwalk! on November 9, 2013.

The mission of the Allen County SPCA is to promote the prevention of cruelty to animals by providing a safe haven for animals, an effective and comprehensive adoption program, education and outreach programs for the community and deep and broad membership and volunteer programs.
