HOTEL FITNESS GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS

The 2013 Hotel Fitness Championship is now recruiting 800 volunteers to help make the August 26–September 1 tournament at Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a success. The tournament will be the biggest golf event in the Hoosier state in 2013 and will bring an estimated $4-5 million in economic impact to the Fort Wayne area.

The Hotel Fitness Championship is one of four newly created Web.com Tour Finals events for 2013 that will determine the 50 players who earn cards for the 2013-14 PGA TOUR season under the TOUR’s enhanced qualifying system.

Volunteers are needed in a variety of roles including: volunteer hospitality, admissions, marshaling, scoring, as well as several other committees. A full description of each committee is provided on the championship website: www.HotelFitness Championship.com.

“Volunteers are vital in making the tournament successful and these positions fill up quickly,” said Duke Butler IV, tournament director, on behalf of the WGA. “Not only will volunteers be helping the community put its best foot forward, but it’s a great way to see the Hotel Fitness Championship up close, and we encourage volunteers to come be a spectator when not working.”

For area residents and visitors, volunteering is one of the best ways to be a part of the action. Those interested in volunteering can submit an official volunteer application by visiting www.HotelFitness Championship.com and clicking the “Volunteer” link. They will be asked to submit an application with three committee preferences.

Volunteers are asked to purchase the volunteer package at a cost of $50 and to work a minimum of three shifts spanning 15-20 hours during the course of the Championship. The volunteer package includes two Hotel Fitness Championship golf shirts and a ball cap or visor. In addition, each volunteer will be provided with a credential valid for all seven days of the championship, allowing them the chance to be a spectator when not working. Every volunteer will also receive two any day tickets for guest entry to the Championship as well as complimentary parking and catered food and beverage.
