NIGHTINGALE HOSPICE ANNOUNCES NEW LOCATION

Dr. Dev Brar, president of Nightingale Home Healthcare and Hospice of Carmel, Indiana, has announced the Fort Wayne Hospice office will be moving to a new address, 6347 Constitution Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46804, effective May 30. The former location was 4011 West Jefferson Blvd. The phone number remains unchanged and services can be obtained by calling 1-866-334-7777.

Dr. Anuradha Kollipara, MD, board certified in Internal Medicine serves as Medical director for Nightingale Hospice. She has 23 years in medical practice and also serves with the Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Brar commented, “Our Hospice exists to provide support and care for persons in the last phases of incurable disease so that they might live as fully and comfortably as possible. We recognize dying as a normal process whether or not from disease, and do not hasten nor postpone death. Hospice exists in the hope and belief that, through appropriate care and the promotion of a caring community sensitive to their needs, patients and families may be free to attain a degree of both quality and comfort.”

Hospice care is built on the combination of knowledge and skill of an interdisciplinary team of professionals including: the patient’s physician, case managers, nursing staff, home health aide, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers.

Hospice care can be given regardless of where you live—in a home setting, long-term care center, assisted living and independent living community or hospital. A few benefits to hospice care include:

•Financial assistance with medications associated with an illness

•Counseling, education and bereavement for caregivers, family and friends
•Hospice RN on call 24 hours a day – 7 days a week.
Hospice also provides:
•Medications associated with a patient’s illness
•Equipment such as hospital bed, wheelchair and walker
•Needed medical supplies (determined by Nightingale Hospice)
•Specialized education and support for the patient, his/her family, and friends.
